I continue to appropriate visual images of posed individuals into paintings infused with vibrant color, deconstructed imagery and dreamlike imaginings.   Memory, history and experience have led me to interpret possible psychological undertones of isolation, separateness and longing captured by photographic images from the past as well as the present.

My paintings reflect my attention to the details found within family photographs. Upon examination, there is often a sense of isolation and disconnect within the family. I select significant details that I enlarge and paint. I rely on my memory, experience or intuition for interpretation and explore the richness and texture of color to underscore the psychological undertones captured in a posed moment.
