"Letters from Home" is an ongoing series of inkjet prints that combine family photographs from the 1920s, ’30s and ’40s with excerpts from my grandmother’s letters written from Ireland to her adult children in America. I use collage, graphics and design to create a subtext to the narrative. My grandmother, with her deeply felt words, is the main storyteller in this journey, as she offers an insight into a family’s immigrant experience and the love, isolation, loneliness, and joy that surrounds such experience.

My poster prints reference the repeat patterns of wallpaper and textile design but with satirical observations of current political and social events.

My prints of collages reflect dreams, poetry and the unconscious mind. The inkjet prints allow me to enlarge my images, create sharper contrasts, play with color and type and explore the interplay of both mediums.
